If you need a psychologist, Patricia McWhorter, PhD, offers flexible virtual telepsychology session options, including phone, Zoom, Skype, or other secure video conferencing platforms, allowing clients to connect from anywhere with an internet connection, as well as in-person sessions at 46 S Main Street, Tooele.
She works with people of all ages, addressing issues such as PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and the effects of abuse, including physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. She also assesses and responds to the immediate needs of abused children, including medical and neurological evaluations.
She performs psychological intelligence (IQ) tests and court-ordered psychological evaluations, as well as psychological evaluations required for certain surgical procedures.
Medical and Neurological Evaluations: Coordinates with medical professionals to ensure victims of violence receive necessary medical care, including neurological evaluations in cases of head trauma.
Mental Health Conditions:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Addresses the effects of traumatic events, including flashbacks, nightmares, and emotional distress.
Grief: Provides support and guidance for individuals navigating the process of loss.
Depression: Helps individuals cope with and manage symptoms of depression, such as persistent sadness, loss of interest, and fatigue.
Anxiety: Offers strategies and techniques to manage anxiety disorders, including panic attacks, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety.
Bipolar Disorder: Provides support and guidance for individuals with mood swings between periods of mania and depression.
Trauma and Abuse:
Physical, Sexual, and Emotional Abuse: Works with victims of abuse to help them process their experiences, develop coping mechanisms, and heal from trauma.
Child Abuse Assessment: Evaluates the immediate needs of abused children, ensuring they receive appropriate medical, psychological, and social support.
She was appointed to the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) Board’s Investigative Committee in 2012.
She was honored by the B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse) of the Western Utah Chapter to be designated as their liaison therapist.
